"I stuck my head out the window this morning and spring kissed me bang in the face." --Langston Hughes

Spring in Utah will kiss you and hit you in many ways, and today it seems to be playing its typical April Fool's joke on us where it gives us a huge dose of winter for a bit. Oh well, spring's winter usually only lasts for a day, if that, at least that's what I'm hoping for.

“It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!” --Mark Twain

Thomas Jefferson said, "Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day." We've had some really cool sunrises lately, and I was able to take a picture of a particularly awesome one last week. However, as is usually the case, my picture didn't come near to doing the sunrise justice. It did, though, serve to get me thinking about the quote I included in this week's newsletter and how the dawn of day gives us new life and hope.

As you undoubtedly have picked up on if you've followed these newsletters, I love the profound wisdom that can be found in the simplest of quotes, and this week I found such wisdom in this quote from Babe Ruth: "Every strike brings me closer to the next homerun." I guess with the spring weather and our spring sports in full swing (pardon the pun), I chose to focus my message on this  baseball quote and metaphor. We certainly have all had our share of strikes and strikeouts (to use the metaphor) in life.
