Grete Weitz, the first woman to run a marathon in under two and a half hours, said,  "For every finish-line tape a runner breaks, complete with the cheers of the crowd and the clicking of hundreds of cameras, there are the hours of hard and often lonely work that rarely gets talked about." With our track teams' winning boys' and girls' region titles last week, this quote seemed apropos. Our SHHS track teams' two titles certainly represent hours and hours of dedication and hard work.

Last Saturday I represented our administrative team in a drift trike race. I'd never raced a drift trike before, so I took advice from Mr. Neves and our students as to how to best navigate the course that had been set up for us. As I raced through the course, everything went very smoothly, and I felt like I handled the race well, completely under control.
