SHHS Wellness Center

Wellness Room Example

Dear Salem Hills Community,

Over the past term, our counseling & administrative team have been working hard to create and open  up a Student Wellness Center at Salem Hills High School.  The goal of our Wellness Center is to provide a place for students to learn self-regulation by taking short mental health breaks as needed. The Wellness Center will also provide a safe, supervised environment, with a focus and goal of returning students to class as soon as possible.  Many schools across the state are implementing wellness centers and have seen great success within their buildings.

We live in a world where students are under a lot of stress and sometimes need some assistance choosing healthy ways to cope.  We are hoping that this center empowers students with skills to self-regulate, which will help them throughout their entire lives.  Wellness centers are meant to be a safe place for those who may be struggling, having a difficult day, or just need a few minutes to reset and/or recharge.  Our wellness center will be a place to support students, teachers, and staff in ways that can help everyone feel safe, happy, and confident.

Most of the items in our wellness center have been funded through a grant we have received.  However, we have a few more items we are hoping the community can help us with. We are asking for your support with contributing items. This can be done via the Amazon Gift List linked below. Items donated can be shipped directly to the school by choosing the Salem Hills Wellness Center at checkout. The items donated will go directly to our Wellness Center and be utilized to benefit our students. Our target date to open our SHHS Wellness Center will be the beginning of 2nd semester (1/13/2022).

We cannot thank you enough for sending us such amazing students and all your support. Go Skyhawks!
