Earning College Credit

AP Courses

Advanced Placement courses are college-level courses, and more rigorous in nature. AP classes are taught by high school teachers, and consist more reading and writing than regular high school classes, and usually requiring more homework. AP tests are administered in May, students can receive a varied amount of college credit based on their AP exam score. AP credit is transferred form stats to state since it is a nationally recognized program.

Salem Hills High School offers the following AP classes: AP Language & Composition, AP Literature & Composition, AP Physics, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Studio Art, and AP Music Theory

ALC (Advanced Learning Center)

Advanced Learning Center serves Nebo School District aged students in grades 10-12, offering a wide variety of courses for students seeking advanced learning opportunities such as concurrent enrollment, distance learning, and online classes. For more information visit here

Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment allows a student to take a class from approved Salem Hills High School teachers for UVU college credit. Concurrent Enrollment classes are usually for juniors and seniors only. Students must pay a one-time $35 registration fee and $5 per credit hour. Students must register at here to receive credit. MTECH (Mountainland Technical College)

MTEC provides career and technical education to both secondary and adult students. Through competency-based education and training programs which may be long term, short term, apprenticeships, or custom designed for employer needs. Many programs are offered in an open-entry, open-exit format providing flexibility for students and employers. MTEC also has an articulation agreement with UVU. Students can complete MTEC 900 hours, MTEC Certificate of Completion, and 30 credit hours at UVU and received an UVU Associate Degree in Applied Science. Website: here.
