What About Class Schedules for Next Year?

Submitted by wade.tischner on

For the 2014-2015 school year Salem Hills is using a new class scheduling program called Class Choice.  This program was open to our incoming and returning students before they left for Summer Break to allow them the opportunity to schedule their classes, teachers and times.  For now this system is closed.  There will be one other window of time in which Class Choice will be open to schedule classes, this will be from July 30th until Aug. 11th.

If a student has not yet scheduled their classes they will be assigned classes using an automatically generated schedule based on their requests.  During the time form July 30th until Aug. 11th all students will have the ability to go in to Class Choice again and make any changes they need.

Our goal with using Class Choice is to reduce the amount time students are out of class making class changes at the beginning of each semester, we have lost valuable class time.  After that window of time the only way to make changes to a class schedule will be in a meeting with the student, their parent and a councilor.  There will be no mass arena class change assembly this next year.

Congrats Grads!

Message from Principal Bart Peery:

"If by chance you didn't hear all of the commotion last night with every fire engine, ambulance and police car parading through town at 11:00 with sirens blasting, that was our softball team celebrating another state championship--their second in a row!  It was an amazing show of support and celebration from our community. Congrats to Renae Kinghorn and her amazing girls.  They played their hearts out and won three games yesterday. I couldn't have been more proud of them and the way that they represented our school!"
