We'd like to welcome Coach Sparks to SHHS as our new drill coach.

Coach Sparks has been teaching dance for over 20 years. She has trained, taught, and choreographed in many styles. Her routines have placed in the top five at many national conventions and competitions and have received multiple awards for her choreography. She recently won the Best Direction at Hollywood Vibe dance convention, which also placed first overall and was in the top 3 at their National competition. She is a very expereinced choreographer, working with drill teams and cheerleading squads.

Coach Spark's favorite thing about dance is being able to see a dancer's face light up when they have achieved a goal; seeing these accomplishments is what inspires her to keep learning and teaching. She is a firm believer that in order to be a great teacher, you must first be a great student. One of her favorite mantras is “Practice makes better!”

Once again, welcome to Salem Hills High School Coach Sparks!

COVID Testing

Submitted by kylynn.james on

Update - The Utah Department of Health has requested that we continue to offer a site where they can provide free COVID-19 rapid antigen testing.  The next free COVID testing day for employees and members of our Nebo communities will be today, Monday, April 26, from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  The Utah State Department of Health plans to continue free COVID testing on Mondays and Fridays during the same timeframe until Monday, May 24.

Nebo School District's testing site is the Advanced Learning Center (ALC), located at 161 E. 400 N. in Salem, Utah.  The testing will be a mobile site, so individuals will stay in their vehicle to be tested.  Please pull to the west side of the block and enter the testing area through the west entry.  Signs will be posted to show you how to get to the testing site.  Testing will take place in the garage bay of the vehicle repair/woodshop building on the west side of the campus.  In order to receive your test, the state has requested that each person register before being tested.  The sign-up link is posted below:

https://c19.health.utah.gov/surveys/?s=TCRCL9RD8E&siteid=SFHS-NSD

Employees of Nebo School District and citizens from local communities can get tested at this free testing clinic, even if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19.  However, the Department of Health encourages anyone who might have any symptoms, even mild ones, to come and get tested. Online registration is encouraged to cut down on any potential delays at the testing site. If you can’t register online, you will be able to register at the site. Identification is required.

The goal of this testing clinic is to quickly identify people who are currently infectious with COVID-19, including those who may not even know they are infected because they don’t have symptoms. Identifying these individuals will help slow the spread of infection in the community.

Test results will be emailed to those tested within 30-60 minutes after being tested.

Testing teams will consist of Utah Department of Health staff, deployed National Guard members, and TestUtah contracted teams.
