Chromebook One-to-One and Insurance

As many of you have heard, we are planning to go one-to-one with Chromebook distribution when we start school on August 19. Students will be issued a Chromebook that they will be allowed to use for educational purposes here at school and at home, and students will have the same Chromebook for the duration of the school year. The cost of the Chromebook is covered under each student's basic registration fees.
In deciding to go one-to-one, however, we have had a number of questions regarding the Chromebook insurance we are offering. The way our SHHS Chromebook Insurance works is it costs $30, and will cover any damage or technical issues associated with the Chromebook. It does not cover obvious intentional damage to Chromebooks or lost Chromebooks. All other damage or maintenance, however, is covered by the insurance, so we are encouraging our students to purchase the Chromebook insurance.
