Skyhawk Gorge

Submitted by wade.tischner on

This fabulous feed is coming soon....Monday, November 19th starting at 5:00pm.  What is the Skyhawk Gorge?  It is a time when we all gather together to help another.  Taylor Warr is the individual we are helping this year, he is one of our students at Salem Hills High School who is going through some significant difficulties in his life.  The Gorge is one of our ways to help Taylor out and provide him with a small dream by using the proceeds from the Gorge to grant this.

All the clubs at the school will have tables set up with some scrumptious foods.  Some will be good to eat, some are even good for you to eat.  It is a wonderful event for the entire family to come try many foods that you might not get a chance at eating, except for at the Gorge.  Take the opportunity to enjoy this time and bring another family or two, maybe a family with kids that will soon be coming to Salem Hills High School.

Happy Gorging!

Marching Band and our Volleyball team both take 3rd at State competitions

Submitted by wade.tischner on

Congratulations to our Marching band who went down to St. George and competed for the state title.  For the overall competition they took a very respectable 3rd place.  Thanks for representing your school so well.  Our percussion section placed first at the same competition, way to go Percussion!

Our Volleyball team had great and exciting games Friday at the tournament, sending their opponents out with what seemed very little effort.  Saturday morning Skyview came out strong and furious, beating the Skyhawks in 3.  The Skyview team went on to win the title that evening.  That afternoon our girls did very well and beat Westlake in 3 for 3rd place.  Way to come back after a tough loss and put together a great match girls.

Volleyball and Marching Band Headed to State Finals

The volleyball team as well as the marching band will both be headed to their respective state competitions this weekend. The band competition will take place in Saint George on Friday. The group is coming off an impressive showing at the Timpanogos Invitational held in Pleasant Grove over the weekend. They have won or placed among the top schools in several other competitions this year and they are headed into this weekend’s tournament as the number one seed in their division. They look to continue their dominance and bring home a state title.

The volleyball team also heads into their state tournament with a number one ranking. The team has an impressive 28-3 record on the season so far and is undefeated in region play. Their tournament will be held at Utah Valley University in Orem. Their first game kicks of Friday afternoon. The tournament runs through Saturday, with the State Championship taking place Saturday evening.

Let’s all get out support our awesome teams this weekend! And, good luck to all those competing!

Go Skyhawks!
