Throughout the month of February students are encouraged to research future career options as part of CTE Month. Students are encouraged to view a variety of careers and submit answers to the questions to Ms. Turnbow in C-100.

All students who participate in viewing at least 3 different career videos and answer the following questions will jumpstart their lives by earning $100 grand! (full-sized candy bar)

1 - What are 3 Steps to follow in order to pursue this career?

2 - What is the best advice given by the professional?

3 - How does the professional's personality match compared to your personality?

For those students who go above and beyond there is more. If students answer the 3 questions AND find all the hidden "Easter Eggs" they will be entered in a drawing for cash prizes! Our FBLA club and Mr. Robinson are giving this out to one lucky winner.  All the information can be found on our CTE website!

Submitted by kylynn.james on Thu, 02/04/2021 - 07:24

We are pleased to inform you that the next free COVID testing days for employees and members of our communities will be Monday, February 8th, and Friday, February 12th, from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Nebo School District's testing site will be at the Advanced Learning Center (ALC), located at 161 E. 400 N. in Salem, Utah.  The testing will be a mobile site, so individuals will stay in their vehicle to be tested.  Please pull to the west side of the block and enter the testing area through the west entry.  Signs will be posted to show you how to get to the testing site.  Testing will take place in the garage bay of the vehicle repair/woodshop building on the west side of the campus.  In order to receive your test, the state has requested that each person register before being tested.  The sign-up link is posted below:

https://c19.health.utah.gov/surveys/?s=TCRCL9RD8E&siteid=SFHS-NSD

Anyone can get tested at this free testing clinic, even if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19.  However, the Department of Health encourages anyone who might have any symptoms, even mild ones, to come and get tested. Online registration is encouraged to cut down on any potential delays at the testing site. If you can’t register online, you will be able to register at the site. Identification is required.

The goal of this testing clinic is to quickly identify people who are currently infectious with COVID-19, including those who may not even know they are infected because they don’t have symptoms. Identifying these individuals will help slow the spread of infection in the community.

Test results will be emailed to those tested within 30-60 minutes after being tested.

Testing teams will consist of Utah Department of Health staff, deployed National Guard members, and TestUtah contracted teams.

  • Testing will take place on Monday 1/25 & Tuesday 1/26 in English classes.  If students do not have an English class (or if your English class is at the ALC) then students will need to come & test after school (1:40 - 2:40pm) on either day.

  • PLEASE register BEFORE hand - we will have PTA there to help students register - however students will need to call a parent to verify permission to test. The link to register is:

    https://c19.health.utah.gov/surveys/?s=3XDE77E4CK&dagid=PTI-SalemHillsHS

  • If students choose not to (or are unable to) test they will be asked to move to remote learning from Wednesday Jan. 27th - Tuesday Feb. 9th.

  • No outside testing will be accepted. However, if a student tests positive during test to stay they may return to school with a negative PCR test.

  • Students who have tested positive in the past 90 days (since October 26th) and have been previously reported to the school will not have to participate in the Test to Stay day at school.  If the school does not have a record of this test please have your student bring a copy of the positive test (with the test date) into the office Monday morning.

  • If athletes/students have been tested in the last 7 days they will still need to participate in test to stay on Monday & Tuesday - however this will replace their extra curricular testing for the next 2 weeks.
  • IF your student tests positive during test to stay the student and their family will be contacted by the health department and asked to quarantine for 10 days.
