Amanda Smith (Junior) was one of 2 SHHS students chosen out of 50 for a spot in the Utah State art show (the other is Mckell Flick). Her entry was an acrylic painting in black and white of a girl. It is titled “boredom”. Amanda got this inspiration for this painting by a picture she had taken of a good friend of hers. “The picture showed great expression” Amanda said. When asked what her motivation was, Amanda said that Ms. Shuler was very encouraging of her work and persuaded her to enter the art show. When asked about how she felt about her art work being selected Amanda humbly stated “I’m just happy I did good at something I like to do.”
