We're so proud of the SHHS Chamber Singers for receiving superior ratings at region festival yesterday. They will advance to the state festival in April. Congrats to director Justin Bills and the Chamber Singers!

Dallas Williams's entry "The Biker and I" has been chosen Runner-Up in the Personal Narrative category at the UVU High School Writing Competition. Dallas wins a $50 prize for his winning entry - congratulations Dallas!

Great weather and a great tournament for the SHHS Baseball Team this weekend. they one two games and lost 2 games, but had a solid showing at the tournament.

Tennis Tournament - St. George

Congrats to the tennis team for a great showing at the St. George tournament this weekend! Out of 12 teams, we took 1st place!! Tanner Nicholls took 2nd at #1 singles, Parker Sonntag took 3rd at #2 singles, Mckay Asay took 1st at #3 singles and Ethan Condie and Riley Lewis took 1st at #1 doubles, and Levi and Booker Ward took 1st place at #2 doubles.

Our JV team dominated even more! We took 3 doubles teams and they competed against 40 other teams. We took 1st, 2nd and 4th. Jayden Parkinson and Drew Meservy took 1st, Jason Cheny and Trevor Wilcox took 2nd and Brandon Mayo and Andrew Thomson took 4th.

Broadway's Best ConcertThe SHHS Choirs had an incredibly successful performance last week, "Broadway's Best: Live in Living Color." Nearly 200 choir students and another 40 or so instrumentalists and technicians combined forces to present several musical theater favorites with choreography. Also featured were 10 solos and duets, also from musical theater. The "Broadway's Best" concert is now going to be a wonderful addition to the traditions at Salem Hills. Next year's concert will be on February 21, 2018. Mark your calendars!

Performer of the Week April 22-26

Organization: Performing Arts

The SHHS Performer of the Week for April 22-26 is Logan Reynaud, representing Orchestra.

Logan was nominated by Mr. Wells, who said,

Logan has been our Chamber Concertmaster this season, and he never shies away from a challenge, seeking to expand his musicianship. He picked up the viola this year and tackled some very difficult pieces for Solo & Ensemble. He participates in the Nebo Youth Orchestra and even joined with the band as a tuba player. He's a good example to others in the orchestra, practices hard, and is an asset to the program.

Luke Henry deserves Math Scholar of the Week because he is always engaged, focused, and striving to find better ways to think mathematically. Luke enjoys sharing his problem-solving strategies with his group and with the class, and listens to others' ideas to deepen his own mathematical knowledge. He is always excited to come to class, and his enthusiasm for learning spreads throughout the classroom.
